Pros & Cons of Free websites

Pros:

  • It’s free
  • You will be online

Cons:

  • Support, support, support! Where is it? Free solutions like WordPress, host template tools or a free design from a friend all sound great. You may get the site done, but support normally goes out the window. You more than likely won’t have a place to turn when updates are needed, or when a problem arises after the site is built. Designers are also less likely to provide good customer support to someone who has not paid.
  • Professionalism comes at a price. Dynamic & interactive websites require not only code but mathematical formulas to work correctly. This type of work should only be done by a professional.
  • Most people realize that they are limited when they try to build a site on their own and eventually seek professional help. There’s a reason why certificates and degrees exist for Web Design, it’s a skill that requires knowledge, training & experience.
  • WordPress may seem easy and look great, but when you really need customization or simple changes done you many hit a road block.

Using Flash for your website:

Pros:

  • It looks great.
  • Excellent for video clarity
  • Can add an extra layer of interactivity

Cons:

  • A plugin needs to be installed for it to work, and plugin versions can add to this issue. If a user does not have the plugin installed or has version a different version than what is needed that can drive people away from the site.
  • Requires more bandwidth just to load the page. Load time can make visitors impatient and possibly drive them away.
  • Smart phone support is limited, which means any flash on your website may not be scene on mobile phones.
  • Lack of search engine proficiency. In other words, it can be difficult for a search engine to “crawl” the site and gather data to help the website rank.

Do we take incremental payments?

Yes, we take payments. We break your total cost into two payments. One payment when the design is agreed upon & contract is signed. The next payment when the work is complete.

Websites that are $500 or below need to be paid in full once the design is agreed upon & contract is signed.
